Bill Kulina resides on Flowers Avenue with his friendly dogs.  He is familiar to the Hazelwood Initiative membership, since Bill has been interning for the past two years with Jim Richter while doing post-graduate work at Pitt.

Deloris G. Livsey has resided on Monongahela Street since 1986 when she started working at Burgwin       Elementary School.  Besides becoming active in HI, Deloris is a hands-on participant of the Monongahela/Marsden Street Block Club, the Neighborhood Leaders Program and Silver Sneakers at the YMCA.  She brings to the Board her leadership and organizational skills, various computer skills, and is looking forward to be a contributor to the Homepage.  Besides the proud mother of two sons and three daughters, Deloris is the grandmother of 17 and first-time great grandmother to a great grand daughter.

Suzanne Murray is a lifelong resident of Hazelwood, living on Gertrude Street.  Besides being a charter member of Hazelwood Initiative, Suzanne has been active in the Gertrude Street Block Club and the chairperson of the Oktoberfest 5K Walk/Run for the past 7 years.  Besides working as a home health care nurse, Suzanne enjoys spending time with her husband - Jim, as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.  Suzanne hopes to      continue working on the many HI projects and promote Hazelwood as a safe community.

Jim Ryan is well-known throughout the Greater Hazelwood Community as a general contractor for the past 40 years.  Jim and his wife, Winifred, live near the cemetery on Indus Street.  We are lucky to have Jim as a new member to the board, and appreciate all the work he has done on the facilities at Second and Johnston.  Jim is also a well-respected member of St. Stephen’s Church, currently involved with the Bible Study group.  Jim and Winnie enjoy spending time with their four children and grandchildren.

Matt Smuts is the newest member to the Hazelwood community.  He has resided on Edington Street for only a year and half, but it didn’t take long for him to become active in HI.  Besides youthful energy, Matt brings to the Board his many interests of writing, photography, horticulture and design.  His particular interest is in community planning.  After living for 10 years in northern California, Matt returned to Pittsburgh 5 years ago.  Matt’s family is originally from Oakland.
