Finance Committee

The mission of the Finance Committee is to ensure that the organization is in good financial health that its assets are protected and its resources are used appropriately. A key task is to ensure that the entire board understand the organization's financial condition. Some of the responsibilities of the Finance Committee include:

• A review of the guidelines for preparing the annual budget at the beginning of each new fiscal year.
• Submit a balanced budget to the WHO WE ARE for approval. Review budget accountability process annually.
• Ensure optimum usage of the Quickbooks Accounting Software.
• Reaffirm or recommend an auditing firm at the close of each fiscal year.
• Review investment guidelines periodically.

The duties of the chairperson are to convene meetings and, with the executive director, draft agendas. The chairperson must also ensure due diligence of all committee members and to spearhead the budget development process. This committee is also responsible for fundraising.
